About the Film
D.I.G. is a contained psychological short film from Effigy Entertainment. The story follows two men in the aftermath of a violent mistake, alone in the woods with a shovel, a body, and a secret that refuses to stay buried.
This is a dialogue driven, actor focused piece. We are looking for performers who can hold tension without overplaying it, communicate fear through restraint, and bring emotional truth to a dark, high pressure scene.
Story
Synopsis
After a plan spirals into violence, two men stand alone in the woods with a body, a shovel, and a grave that is only half finished. What begins as a cover-up slowly becomes a psychological standoff between the man who pulled the trigger and the man who thought he could still walk away clean.
As the night gets heavier, guilt turns into leverage, fear turns into power, and the line between victim and monster begins to disappear.
D.I.G. is about the moment a person realizes they may already be worse than the thing they fear.

Eli
Male, 40sNervous, intelligent, and tightly wound. Eli is a man who has convinced himself he is still in control, even as the situation collapses around him. He is not built for violence, but he may be more capable of it than he wants to admit.
Looking for restraint, anxiety, quiet emotional pressure, and the ability to shift from fear to calculation without making it obvious.
Vince
Male, 50+Calm, intimidating, and grounded. Vince carries the weight of a man who has seen too much and done worse. He does not need to raise his voice to control a room, but the cracks are starting to show.
Looking for stillness, presence, emotional weight, and the ability to create tension through silence, patience, and restraint.
